Product Specialist
Description
The Product Specialist is an entry-level role that supports the software design process by working with developers and clients to gather and translate application requirements and begin the software design process. The Product Specialist is responsible for managing assigned tasks with guidance, while developing the ability to independently prioritize and drive work forward. This role requires a motivated individual who is eager to learn, take ownership, and communicate proactively.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Business Value by solving market problems to meet client and potential client needs. Scope of work is commensurate with entry-level position.
- Learn and analyze basic client business requirements, building product and domain knowledge over time.
- Gather requirements of limited scope and complexity from stakeholders to support the product development process; communicate requirements in the form of User Stories.
- Document and design basic solutions based on identified requirements.
- Communicate clearly and effectively as a liaison with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Embrace continuous learning and feedback to grow in the role.
- Work independently with guidance, as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
- Manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills.
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across departments.
- Show initiative by seeking clarity, surfacing blockers, and providing status updates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may substitute for a degree.
- Exposure to software development environments and Agile SCRUM processes is helpful.
- Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and related methodologies.
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts and relational databases is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective time management, planning, and organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and non-technical information clearly.
- Able to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
- Comfortable asking questions, seeking feedback, and providing proactive updates.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn; demonstrates a willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Capable of working independently with guidance and balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
