The Studio Photography Lead will create, supervise and lead all photography content for Torrid.com, as well as all sub-brands under the Torrid umbrella.  They will drive new techniques in, photography and oversee all in-house and freelance photographers, always thinking "Digital First".  They exhibit exemplary visual skills and creativity with an excellent understanding of lighting and composition, while working in a professional team-oriented environment.  Their focus will be leading all editorial on figure.  This role is pivotal to ensure that we continue to push to elevate all photography that is on figure and off.  They will continue to evolve and share ideas and put into action improvement in lighting and the overall approach to photography.  They will work directly with the VP Creative and Photo Art Director, Art Directors and Stylist to create an execute to the overall brand aesthetic.
 
What You’ll Do:
  • Lead and manage all photographers/photography for editorial on figure for branded seasonal content, utilizing proper lighting and photography techniques to meet industry standards.
  • Works closely with Assistant Photo AD’s and Stylist’s to ensuring that "fit and look" of the clothing is in line with the Torrid brand.
  • Supervise and lead the table-top and still life photographer/photography and/or off-figure digital content. 
  • Manage all assets before passing to Retouching lead and team.
  • Travel as needed with their team to photo shoot locations as needed.
  • Influence/work with Art Directors and Stylist to achieve results aligned with Torrid business objectives. 
  • Lead in managing and keeping the team updated on workload/priorities and manages their time effectively to ensure deadlines are met and adhered to.
  • Partner’s closely with post- production, to ensure all images meet image requirements.
  • Leads innovation and brings new and original ideas to the table, pushing forward the Torrid and all sub-brands, keeping the look and feel of each distinct to the aesthetic of each brand.
  • Perform other job duties as needed.
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in photography or art preferred.
  • 10+ years of photography experience, specializing in fashion photography (both on-figure and still life), with proven experience leading and developing a team of photographers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of photography, art and lighting.
  • Strong creative presence and artistic flair. 
  • Customer focus with a desire to over deliver on quality.
  • Lead and communicate out direction to clearly achieve desired results.
  • Strong prioritizing, problem-solving, presentation, project management and planning skills.

Salary range:  $92,148 - $110,000
