Description
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with Torrid’s goals and objectives as well as assigned departments.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate contracts, and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers.
- Continuously monitor market trends and industry best practices to stay ahead of the competition and endeavor to future-proof our supply chain.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability, availability, and quality of goods/services as well as cost transparency.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, conducting thorough due diligence to ensure their capability to meet our requirements.
- Implement real-time supply chain monitoring, vendor performance evaluations and improvement plans when necessary.
- Leverage high emotional intelligence to find creative approaches to negotiate and find win-win opportunities and drive improved outcomes.
- Utilize data analytics and market intelligence to make informed decisions.
- Regularly analyze procurement data, identify patterns, and make data-driven recommendations for cost reduction and process optimization.
- Demonstrate a true love of data and intellectual curiosity.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing and IT departments to understand their procurement needs and objectives.
- Act as a business partner, translating departmental requirements into effective procurement strategies and solutions.
- Drive initiatives to optimize costs and overall value while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes and implement cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.
- Mitigate potential risks by assessing supplier financial stability and contract terms.
- Maintain efficient inventory levels by working with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Minimize excess inventory while ensuring product availability to meet business demands.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CIPS) in procurement and supply chain management a plus.
- Familiarity with collaborative procurement, including group purchasing organizations and consortium buying to achieve economies of scale.
- Familiarity with sustainable procurement, ethical procurement, and ESG practices.
- Expertise in negotiating contracts, understanding legal terms, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Proven experience in procurement and strategic sourcing.
- Strong analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
- Understanding of supply chain management and inventory control principles.
- Compliance and risk management expertise.
- Problem lifecycle management skills.
- Strong knowledge of cost allocation, budget management, and spend tracking.
- Ability to provide guidance and build technical expertise amongst the team.
- Must be available to work primarily on Pacific Time to meet the needs of the business.
- Occasional travel to HQ in City of Industry, CA may be required.
