The Senior Manager of Intimates Technical Design will lead the technical design process from innovation and development to production, for Torrid Curve bras and panties. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with design, product development and merchant teams to bring best in class fit and innovation to the market while establishing and implementing standards for garment fit, construction and grading that are compatible with brand objectives and strategies.

 
What You’ll Do:  
  • Manage fit and construction standards across specific intimates’ categories, monitoring the consistency and implementation of the established standards. Responsible for block management.
  • Manage Bra & Panty grading standards, company measuring standard, and company tolerance standards
  • Responsible for integrating new trends & innovation. Working with vendors and pad suppliers to stay current with industry trends, fabric innovations, and new technologies in the intimate space. Driving product innovation and meeting merchant and customer demands.
  • Manage specific category workflow; prioritize and assign projects to balance individual workload and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate with Design, Merchants, and Production teams to ensure that quality fit, desired appearance, and quality standards are achieved. Implement best construction practices and trouble shoot fit issues.
  • Organize, analyze and follow-up on category performance data including, but not limited to ability to meet deadlines, fit tracking reports, and line in process evaluations.
  • Develop comparative analyses of product quality, fit construction and performance relative to competition.
  • Monitoring direct reports workloads, understanding individual strengths/weakness, while coaching and mentoring team members as needed. 
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
        
      What You’ll Need:
      • Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, apparel production, or textiles preferred.
      • Minimum of 7 years of technical design experience in intimate apparel, including development, leadership and team management experience.
      • Strong computer skills including Adobe Illustrator, MS Word, and Excel. Centric knowledge is ideal.
      • Comprehensive knowledge of pad development, functional fabric and trim properties, fit, pattern making/grading, garment construction and production specific to bras and intimate apparel.
      • Plus size intimates apparel experience strongly preferred.
      • Previous experience in leading a small team of direct reports.
      • Knowledge of quality assurance practices, processes and principles.
      • Analytical ability to gather and interpret information to develop, recommend and implement solutions.
      • Regular travel is not expected though travel up to 4 weeks per year could be needed.
      • Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator.
      • Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.
      • Accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues.
      • Travel requirement up to 35% to meet the needs of the business.

      Salary: $125,000 – $150,000 / year
