About the Role

 

The Vice President, Corporate Mines Technical Services provides strategic leadership and governance for the company’s mine technical services functions, ensuring the consistent development and delivery of key technical outputs across operations and projects. This includes Life of Mine planning, Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves (MRMR) disclosure, reconciliation processes, and technical inputs that support corporate planning and reporting. The role ensures that technical work across the organization is aligned with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and the company’s long-term strategic objectives.

 

Working closely with operations, exploration, metallurgy, and executive leadership, this role guides the integration of technical data and planning processes to support informed decision-making and long-term value creation. The Vice President plays a critical role in strengthening systems, governance, and collaboration across technical teams while identifying opportunities to optimize mining assets and support the company’s growth strategy.

What We're Looking for:

 

Education:

  • Post-secondary degree in Geology or an appropriate field of Engineering.
  • Professional registration with a recognized engineering or geoscience association.
  • Meets requirements to act as a Qualified Person for Reserves.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 20 years of experience in mining operations, technical services, or consulting environments
  • Experience in both underground and open pit mining operations
  • Extensive experience in Life of Mine planning, mine planning governance, and mineral resource and reserve reporting
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and guiding cross-functional technical workstreams
  • Demonstrated experience developing governance systems, standards, and processes for technical planning
  • Experience supporting corporate strategic planning and technical decision-making
  • Experience contributing to technical due diligence for potential acquisitions or growth

Key Accountabilities

Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves Governance

 

  • Develop and maintain the corporate strategy for Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves disclosure
  • Establish and maintain systems supporting MRMR reporting and reconciliation processes
  • Ensure the organization has appropriate governance frameworks and reporting standards
  • Coordinate inputs across exploration, geology, metallurgy, and technical services teams to ensure accurate resource estimation
  • Ensure Qualified Persons have the authority, accountability, and resources required to deliver compliant disclosures
  • Support technical inputs for press releases and corporate reporting

 

 

 

Mineral Resource Estimation

  • Oversee delivery of mineral resource estimation services and ensure alignment with industry best practices
  • Ensure appropriate technical oversight and approval of disclosure information
  • Maintain systems, processes, and standards supporting resource estimation across the organization

 

Life of Mine Planning and Reserves

  • Lead governance processes for development of Life of Mine plans and annual reserves statements
  • Establish corporate planning calendars and milestones aligned with financial planning cycles
  • Ensure mine planning inputs are consistent across operations and meet quality assurance standards
  • Assess mining methods and mine designs to identify risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Support executive decision-making through scenario analysis and technical evaluation

 

Production Optimization

  • Identify opportunities to optimize production across mining assets
  • Guide the development and evaluation of mining technology and innovation initiatives
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of technical improvement opportunities aligned with operational goals
  • Support development of a multi-year Mine Technology Roadmap

 

Exploration Strategy

  • Support evaluation and prioritization of exploration targets across the Morelos Property
  • Contribute technical insights to exploration planning and capital allocation decisions
  • Develop conceptual mine designs to support economic evaluation of exploration opportunities

 

Mergers and Acquisitions

  • Support technical due diligence for potential acquisitions and strategic growth opportunities
  • Review and verify mineral resource and reserve estimates for potential assets
  • Provide technical recommendations to executive leadership during transaction evaluations

The posted salary range represents our target pay for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on the comprehensive review of the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity and external benchmark data for comparable roles.
