Position Overview
The Sr Specialist - Accounting is responsible for supporting financial operations across multiple regions, including Mainland China, Hong Kong. This role oversees payroll coordination, employee expenses, vendor payments, accounting activities, statutory audits, and annual tax filings. The position requires strong attention to detail, regional compliance knowledge, and the ability to work effectively with external service providers, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management
- Collect and provide payroll information (Merit Increase, Bonus & Award, Overtime, and other items) to external payroll service providers.
- Review payroll files received from payroll service providers and submit them to the Sr. Manager for review.
- After receiving Sr. manager approval, communicate final approval to payroll service providers for bank payment preparation.
- Ensure payroll is completed and released on time (Payday: 25th of each month).
- Follow up on social insurance and withholding tax payments to ensure compliance.
Employee Expense Management
- Review and approve Concur expense reports after employees’ direct managers have approved them.
- After Concur reports are transferred to NetSuite, create vendor bills in NetSuite for Manager approval.
- Review Accounts Payable and arrange bank payments, and request Manager to release bank wires.
Vendor Payment Management
- Review Accounts Payable records and prepare bank payments after vendor bills are approved in NetSuite.
- Maintain and update vendor master records in NetSuite.
- Review and approve Purchase Orders in NetSuite
Accounting Operations
- Enter journal entries including payroll, bank charges, accruals, and other necessary adjustments.
- Perform monthly closing activities, including:
- Reviewing reconciliations for Cash, Fixed Assets, and AP Aging.
- Preparing other Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and review financial reconciliations in ARCS.
Statutory Audit & Annual Tax Filing
Work closely with external service providers to support statutory audits and annual tax compliance for various entities:
- DTS China – due 31 May
- DTS Hong Kong – due 30 August
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a regional role.
- Experience with NetSuite, Concur, and ARCS is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of regional statutory and tax requirements across China, and Hong Kong.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external service providers.
