Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to support the development, integration, and certification of HD Radio and DTS AutoStage systems in automotive environments. The FAE will serve as a key liaison between internal engineering teams, OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and certification bodies, ensuring seamless execution of development milestones and certification processes. 
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and software-focused Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to support the development, integration, and certification of DTS AutoStage and HD Radio systems within automotive environments. This role emphasizes software engineering expertise and requires close collaboration with internal development teams, OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and certification bodies to ensure successful delivery of software solutions and system certifications.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Customer-Facing Technical Engagement:
•    Deliver technical presentations and software demonstrations tailored to diverse audiences, including engineers, product planners, and business stakeholders.
•     Act as a technical liaison, translating customer requirements into actionable development tasks.
Software Development & Debugging:
•     Analyze and work with Software Development Kits (SDKs) at the source code level.
•     Compile and test SDKs in Ubuntu and Android Automotive OS environments.
•     Perform log analysis and root cause identification using debugging tools and source-level inspection.
•     Lead software debugging sessions with internal and external teams to resolve field and development issues.
Project Coordination & Technical Program Management:
•     Manage project tasks and timelines using project tracking tools.
•     Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure timely delivery of software builds, documentation, and validation reports.
•     Prepare and present technical updates for internal stakeholders and customer meetings.
Documentation & Reporting:
•     Maintain detailed records of technical discussions, decisions, and issue resolutions in project management systems.
•     Provide regular status reports and risk assessments to engineering leadership.
Administrative & Compliance:
•     Plan and manage travel logistics and expense reporting.
•     Complete required corporate training and HR compliance tasks.
 
Qualifications:
•     Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
•     Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive software development or embedded systems.
•     Proficiency in Linux-based development environments, especially Ubuntu and Android Automotive.
•     Strong understanding of software debugging, log analysis, and system integration.
•     Experience with infotainment systems, radio technologies, or connected car platforms is highly desirable.
•     Familiarity with project and document management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
•     Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English (spoken and written).
•     Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
