About the role
Xperi is searching for an Engineer - Audio Quality Assurance (with Python). This key role will be responsible for the audio quality evaluation and certification of audio encoders, decoders, and post-processing software for multiple markets including professional audio, home consumer, automotive, PC, broadcast, and gaming.
What you will get to do:
- Develop and perform subjective listening evaluation, and create evaluation reports.
- Develop, collect, and manage subjective listening evaluation content.
- Develop objective audio analysis and measurement methods for codec and post-processing algorithms.
- Develop test plans and test vectors for audio codec and post-processing products.
- Perform objective audio testing, generate, and review test reports to ensure they meet algorithm and product specs.
- Report issues and evaluate bug fixes from development teams.
- Keep track of project status and schedule to ensure products are released on time.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve software product quality.
- Provide training on objective audio testing methodology for other teams.
Education and Experience
- B.S. or higher in Sound Engineering, Music Technology, or equivalent experience
- Prior experience in audio analysis and test automation.
- Basic knowledge of Python or other programming languages.
- Familiar with audio analysis methods and tools, such as SpectraLab, Adobe Audition, Audio Precision, or similar.
- Having a keen ear for sound anomalies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication skills to interact with geographically dispersed teams.
