About the role:


We are currently looking for highly motivated SRE Engineer with systems knowledge to work in the Production Engineering / DevOps group. This position will act as a primary technical liaison and is responsible for delivery of On-Prem and AWS / Cloud infrastructure solutions within the PayTV services team. This position will also work closely with other engineering development teams to design, build and operate consistent and repeatable code and server deployments. In this Role we are responsible for provides a stable, reliable, scalable, and observable infrastructure that is used for Deployment, Upgrade, System maintenance.  An ideal candidate will have a strong operations background as well as some development experience. Candidates for this position must be able to, from day one, roll up their sleeves and hit the ground running, and bring their experience to the team to make the infrastructure deployments and operations much smoother. Most importantly, the right individual will be with a positive, “can-do” attitude and a passion for delivering technical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

 

Here's what you get to do: 

  • Partner with Production Engineering/TechOps engineers to own and manage 24/7 operation of Pay TV systems and the larger Xperi family according to Service Level Agreement.
  • Provide architecture and technical leadership of the overall Production Engineering infrastructure/observability & tooling
  • Own and maintain the development of Config as Code (CI/CD pipeline) for production and testing environments
  • Support and own efforts to achieve automation, quality, stability, security, resiliency and high availability goals of the systems.
  • Develop a roadmap to optimize the operations together with key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with development engineering teams to drive the development of tools and methods to monitor system health, data analysis for identifying potential issues, seamless software updates, automation related to error detection and mitigation, and cost monitoring
  • Build trusting relationships with work partners across the organization, especially with development engineering teams for ideation and implementation of continuous improvement to the service
  • Own and provide clear and timely updates and status of the service operation and reliability to key stakeholders and leadership
  • Guide and mentor other Production Engineering Engineers
  • Manage very large Scale Cloud and on prem System Deployment, Config change, Monitoring, Trouble shooting.

Who we are looking for: 

We seek a talented and experienced Production Engineer to join a growing team building out a cloud services platform at Xperi. You will join a team of Production Engineers who will be responsible for managing the production system of our SaaS infrastructure for media processing and delivery systems. 

  • Minimum of 5 years+ of individual contributor
  • Demonstrable experience with both Agile and waterfall engineering processes.
  • Experience with delivering, integrating, and deploying web services and working with partners and customers to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Experience with operational aspects of On-Premise and Public Cloud deployments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • BE/BTech/Masters in CS/CE/EE or equivalent.
