Case Managers get to work in the community with a diverse population.  Case managers link and coordinate services to fill in gaps within schools, ancillary programs, and even employment sites.  They also assist with engaging children in community activities and monitoring their physical health status.  Within The Children’s Center, staff work with an interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, and other professionals.  Our Case Managers are a vital part of the team, helping parents with basic needs and reducing barriers so families can gain the most benefit from their education and therapeutic services.

To qualify for this exciting opportunity you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mental health related field such as; social work, psychology, or/and counseling.
  • State of Michigan Full or Limited License (MSW, Professional Counselor, Psychologist) – Full License preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ of experience (at the Bachelor level) engaging children and families within a framework of cultural competency.
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning and the ability to assess, diagnose, develop treatment plans and provide crisis intervention.
  • Ability to establish a mutually respectful relationship in which the family is a full partner empowered to solve its problems.


Some of the responsibilities of a Case Manager are:

  • Review services on a monthly basis to determine the client’s progress, appropriateness of treatment goals/objectives, and the appropriateness of services.
  • Maintain current and accurate clinical records, and other required documentation in the appropriate electronic record system.
  • Refer the client to appropriate providers for care, within or outside of the agency and follow up as needed.
  • Support and collaborate with clients to manage physical health.
