Clinician - General Behavioral Health (Hope Village location)

The Children’s Center is looking to bring on an Outpatient Clinician in our Intensive Community Based Services (ICBS) department for our new Hope Village location. This is a community based partnership with a Head Start program servicing Wayne County early years children (ages 7-18). This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of our mission as we expand our community partnerships, expand our integrated services, and service more children in families in Wayne County.
What makes this opportunity stand out? Clinicians in our Hope Village program will work closely with Head Start Administration and Staff to enhance mental health awareness and training, and consequently, increase community understanding and responsiveness to mental health problems. You will grow your clinical skills by collaborating with psychiatrists, psychologists, ancillary professionals, and more to create an effective treatment team to provide exceptional services to our clients.
With the various training and supports offered by The Children’s Center, we equip you to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and provide the resources and supervision needed so you can advance your clinical skills. You will have the opportunity to work with a Supervisor and peers that are trained in evidence based practices to support you in driving successful outcomes of treatment.
To qualify for this exciting opportunity you will need:
- Master’s degree in mental health related field such as; social work, psychology, or/and counseling.
- State of Michigan Full or Limited License (MSW, Professional Counselor, Psychologist) – Full License preferred.
- CAFAS or PECFAS Certification a plus.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience engaging children and families within a framework of cultural competency.
- Knowledge of person-centered planning and the ability to assess, diagnose, develop treatment plans and provide crisis intervention.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule; working evenings
- Prior community based experience, substance use treatment experience or development plan for SUD preferred
- Interest in trauma focused treatment or training
- If position requires driving, you must be able to provide proof of having a current, valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
