Specialist Analyst (Discovery)
Description
We are seeking a Specialist Analyst to join our dynamic Risk Detection for Platforms team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and quality of data and detection used in product development and business operations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Query Development: Design and implement new data collection queries to support various product requirements and business needs.
- Data Monitoring: Continuously monitor data quality, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Strategic Thinking: Understand cross platform risks to identify and monitor new risk signals to contribute to the enhancement of detection mechanisms.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Utilise a range of skills (including OSINT and SOCMINT) to discover and analyse content and signals from diverse data sources, including social media platforms and data aggregators.
- Industry Knowledge: Maintain an understanding of the broader online risk landscape and stay informed about online safety legislation.
- Product Improvement: Implement opportunities for improvements within current data collection workflows and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Manage key stakeholders and teams to ensure discovery processes align with overall business objectives and product requirements.
Key skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Previous work in data analysis or intelligence operations is valuable, whether in cybersecurity, law enforcement, military intelligence, or corporate intelligence.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyse complex datasets, identify trends, and extract meaningful insights to support product and detection development. Including the ability to use tools such as Looker to create clear and accurate dashboards.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and completeness of reported data.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work across a wide range of client needs, on challenging subject matters with flexibility, even under time pressure.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using online syntax, including Boolean logic, regular expressions and search operators.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in navigating mainstream, alt-tech social media platforms and the dark web.
- OSINT Certification: (Desirable) Certifications in any Open-Source Intelligence or strategic analytical training to demonstrate specialized skills in OSINT methodologies.
- Bachelor's Degree: (Desirable) Preferably in a related field. - Technical Skills: (Desirable) Proficiency in crafting and optimising AI prompts to enhance model performance, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and efficiency.
- Technical Skills: (Desirable) Proficiency in using ontologies to analyze, input and organise data sets and interpreting or navigating network analysis graphs to analyse qualitative data.
