About the role
QTC is seeking a Principal, Technology Risk and Resilience to provide senior second‑line risk oversight across technology‑enabled change. This role has a strong focus on data governance, data platforms, artificial intelligence (AI), and crisis management, supporting QTC’s evolving Data and Technology Strategy.
Reporting into the Director Technology Risk and Resilience, you will strengthen the capacity of the Risk Division by absorbing senior‑level analysis, challenge, and engagement across complex initiatives. You will operate as a trusted, independent advisor to Technology, Data and Information leadership, providing authoritative risk insight, governance and assurance while remaining clearly independent from first‑line delivery.
 
Key responsibilities
  • Provide senior secondline oversight of technology, data and AI risks across major initiatives
  • Deliver independent challenge and review of governance, frameworks and key decisions
  • Act as a subjectmatter expert on data governance and responsible AI use
  • Influence significant technology and data initiatives early, while remaining deliveryindependent
  • Support crisis preparedness and technologyenabled resilience
  • Provide clear, executivelevel risk insights to senior leaders and risk committees
 
About you
You are a senior risk professional with deep expertise in technology and data‑related risk, comfortable operating at executive level and providing independent, constructive challenge.
You bring strong technical capability, sound judgement, and credibility as a trusted advisor, alongside the confidence to engage constructively on complex and emerging risk issues.
 
What you’ll bring
Technical capability
  • Deep knowledge of technology risk management, with particular expertise in data governance, data platforms, AI risk and emerging technologies
  • Strong experience assessing complex risk scenarios and translating technical detail into effective governance, controls and assurance
  • Ability to review, shape and uplift frameworks and standards to support consistent and defensible risk outcomes
  • Experience applying enterprise risk management frameworks in a second‑line oversight context
Leadership & behavioural capability
  • Strong integrity and independence, with professional judgement and discretion
  • Clear, confident communication with senior stakeholders, adapting style to audience and context
  • Proactive identification of emerging risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Ability to lead through influence and expertise, particularly in complex or high‑pressure environments
  • A collaborative mindset, contributing to continuous improvement and team capability
 
Qualifications & experience
Essential
  • Senior experience in technology, data or information security risk
  • Strong second‑line risk oversight and senior stakeholder engagement
  • Expertise in data governance, AI risk and cloud‑based environments
  • Experience supporting major transformation and crisis readiness
Desirable
  • Professional certifications such as CRISC, CISM, CISSP, data governance or AI‑related credentials
  • Experience in regulated or public‑sector environments
  • Exposure to operational resilience, business continuity or crisis response frameworks
  • Experience uplifting enterprise governance artefacts, standards or control frameworks
