POSITION SUMMARY:  The Hatchery Associate is responsible for performing tasks on a rotating basis throughout the Hatchery including processing, traying and transferring eggs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Transfers eggs from incubators to hatchers.
  • Processes chicks according to schedule.
  • Clean hatchery after processing chicks by washing and disinfecting hatcher racks, plastics and boxes.
  • Loads eggs into incubators
  • Accurately completes paperwork associated with job tasks.
  • Willing to work a split week approximately every three weeks which consists of M & T 12:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. and TH & F 5:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Other duties as required.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some ability to add and subtract
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds repetitively.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Absolutely no exposure to other poultry.
