Position overview:

 

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Quality Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the products or service of the Business is fit for purpose, consistent and meets both external and internal technical, market and process requirements/expectations, this includes legal compliance and customer expectations.

 

The Quality manager will be based on our facilities in Droitwich, UK, reporting to the Operations Director and leading a team of Quality Enginers. The ideal candidate will be a professional with a passion for quality, and improvements, with excellent leadership skills, and can demonstrate this experience within a Manufacturing environment.

 

The key responsibilities of the Quality Manager will be:

 

          To achieve and sustain optimum quality excellence through the promotion of The Company's Quality Policy and procedures and Total Quality Management, as laid down in The Quality Manual.

          To progress The Company towards the ultimate objectives of Customer Satisfaction, Right First Time, Zero PPM.

          To maintain and develop appropriate outside Management System accreditations (eg ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and support Environmental/H & S standards (eg ISO 14001; OHAS 18001). 

 

Main responsibilities:

 

The Quality Manager will be performing the following responsibilities and duties:

 

  • Preparing and managing the company's quality procedures, standards and specifications.
  • Reviewing customer requirements and making sure they are met through the operational process of the business.
  • Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
  • Making sure that manufacturing or production processes meet international and national standards of excellence.
  • Looking at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency with a fully lean continuous improvement plan.
  • Defining quality procedures in conjunction with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures.
  • Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports that clearly show and demonstrate continuous improvement.
  • Making suggestions for changes and improvements and how to implement them.
  • Using relevant quality tools and making sure managers and other staff understand how to improve the business.
  • Managing the returns process and ensuring all root cause analysis is carried out and preventative actions is taken to ensure control and improvement

 

Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • B.S. Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other technical discipline desirable
  • Proven automotive quality experience
  • Experience of fasteners/cold forging environment would be an advantage
  • A proven track record in quality management and effective improvement of process controls within a Manufacturing environment
  • Excellent English Communication Skills – Written and Verbal
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills
  • Six Sigma, 5S, QFD, TQM knowledge and experience
  • Full working knowledge of Quality Management System standards IATF 16949 and associated Core Tools
  • Full working knowledge of Process-based Auditing; SPC; APQP; FMEA; MSA; CI; 8D and other Automotive problem solving techniques
  • Knowledge of Environmental/H & S standards ISO 14001/ OHAS18001
  • Ability to work and process requests in a fast moving dynamic environment
  • Logical and analytical approach to requests
  • Inquisitive and focused on continuous improvement
