About the Department 
Our Event Development and Production (ED&P) department develops and produces NYRR events from concepts all the way through execution in a way that fulfills NYRR’s mission. NYRR produces 40+ races per year; in addition to the TCS New York City Marathon, and additional events within each race. The events team is responsible for physical site management, volunteer management, hospitality, special events, safety & security, and managing our warehouse and event logistics, including all race collateral.


About the Position
The Warehouse Event Logistics Lead plays a key role in the end-to-end execution of NYRR events.  While the position is rooted in event logistics and onsite operations, it also serves as a key contributor to the daily functions of our warehouse operation— ensuring equipment, vehicles, and materials are properly prepared to support 40+ NYRR events each year.
Working closely with The Warehouse Event Logistics Director, Event Leads, and the wider Event Development & Production team, the Lead helps translate event plans into operational reality. This includes coordinating equipment flows, managing load-in/load-out strategies, overseeing onsite installations, and ensuring equipment is delivered safely, efficiently, and accurately.
The ideal candidate understands both sides of the operation: the fast-paced demands of race-day logistics and the disciplined structure required to maintain a high-functioning warehouse. They thrive in dynamic environments, communicate clearly, anticipate operational needs, and take pride in delivering a smooth, polished experience for runners, staff, and partners.
 
Job Responsibilities (primary and secondary duties):
  • Oversee the end-to-end movement of NYRR equipment and materials for all events, including load-in, event operations, and load-out.
  • Support warehouse operations by ensuring inventory is organized, maintained, and show ready.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules, routing, and fleet assignments to meet event timelines and operational needs.
  • Partner with Event Project Managers and Site Leads to align on operational plans, staffing, and onsite logistics.
  • Lead and support part-time Warehouse Associates and event staff, reinforcing communication, safety, and best practices.
  • Ensure all event-related equipment, vehicles, and materials are inspected, repaired, and in proper working order.

  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with leadership through updates, issue escalation, and operational reporting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in event logistics, warehouse workflow, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.
 
Job Requirements:
Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in live event operations, outdoor operations and logistics or time-sensitive field logistics or a related field.
  • Prior exposure to warehouse operations and logistics strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team-based environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with equipment commonly used in event or warehouse environments.
Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred but not required
  • Valid, clean driver’s license required. 
  • Forklift and heavy-equipment certifications preferred, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Commercial driver’s license preferred (A or B) a plus but not required.   
Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong logistical thinking with the ability to problem-solve in real time, especially in dynamic event environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written skills. Bilingual Spanish fluency a plus.
  • Adaptable to a flexible schedule; must be able to work nights and weekends as needed in support of NYRR events. 
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and solutions-oriented under pressure.
  • Team-first mindset with the ability to lead by example, uphold safety standards, and maintain confidentiality.
  • High level of attention to detail and strong prioritization skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams).
 
Other Requirements:
 
  • Role is based primarily out of NYRR warehouse facility located at 535 Zerega Avenue in the Bronx. Will require travel to NYRR 56th Street offices, NYRR RunCenter and/or to event sites within the five boroughs of NYC, and on occasion in nearby NJ.
  • Adaptable to a flexible schedule. Must be able to work nights and weekends  in support of NYRR events.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Comfortable working indoors in warehouse environments and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
 
Salary: $72,000/year
