About the Department
Our People and Office Operation department supports the staff at NYRR in numerous ways including by assisting with recruiting efforts, providing benefits, managing performance, and providing opportunities for employee training and development. The HR team works closely with each department to understand their specific needs and works to meet those needs. The department ensures that NYRR provides an environment in which employees can innovate and succeed in their positions. 
 
About the Position
The Recruitment Specialist collaborates closely with the Director, Recruitment to provide a positive experience for candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, while maintaining best practices.  This role is responsible for full-life cycle recruitment for full-time and part-time positions throughout our organization. The Recruitment Specialist must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, and knowledge and understanding of all roles and functions throughout the organization. 
 
Job Responsibilities (primary and secondary duties):
  • Facilitate full-cycle recruitment for full-time and part-time roles.
  • Schedule and conduct pre-screen interviews with candidates to obtain work history, education, training, job skills and candidate salary requirement information, ensuring qualifications are met.
  • Coordinate and schedule candidate interviews.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate recruiting procedures, detail, and status to hiring managers.
  • Maintain Jobvite applicant tracking system to ensure workflow, communications, and job posting information is accurate.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with colleges, university and community college placement offices, and community centers and organizations while positively promoting career opportunities with New York Road Runners.
  • Attend recruitment events to build awareness of job opportunities with New York Road Runners.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to determine salary negotiation information.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to evolve recruitment strategy and workflow processes and procedures, ensuring best practices as it relates to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Continuously share and identify areas of improvement for sourcing, processes, and procedures to provide seamless experience for all stakeholders.
  • Post jobs and source candidates utilizing various resources.
  • Work with external vendors and staffing services regarding temporary or permanent candidates.
  • Partner with Director, Recruitment to execute internship program including determination of department needs, recruiting, and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements: 
Experience:
  • 3+ years of relevant full life cycle recruiting/talent acquisition experience. 
  • Strong organizational, time management, and process management skills necessary to maintain high volume workload.
  • Understanding of human resources and hiring best practices
  • Experience with competency-based interviewing is a plus
  • Proven experience working with people at all levels of authority.
  • Experience working with external vendors such as recruitment agencies a plus
  • Experience with technical recruiting and/or sourcing a plus
 
Skills and Attributes:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze issues and think strategically.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain discretion.
  • Ability to build relationships throughout the organization  
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Ability to speak another language a plus
 
Other Requirements:
  • All staff are required to work the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon, RBC Brooklyn Half Marathon, and the TCS NYC Marathon.
 
 Salary: $72,000/year
