At Nutanix, you'll be joining the Data Lens team, a geo-dispersed group of talented professionals who thrive in a cutting-edge, collaborative, and innovative environment. Our team’s diverse skill sets and perspectives enable us to tackle complex challenges while supporting one another in a dynamic and engaging atmosphere.
You will report to the Technical Director, who is committed to mentoring and guiding team members while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. The work setup is hybrid, requiring you to be in the office at our San Jose headquarters for three days a week. This arrangement allows for valuable in-person collaboration, while still offering flexibility for remote work. Additionally, there are no travel requirements for this position, enabling you to focus on your projects and contribute to our mission from a stable base.
Your Role
- Design and develop NLP/LLM-powered features to enhance the DataHub platform.
- Implement advanced techniques for semantic search, metadata enrichment, and data exploration interfaces.
- Build and optimize models for text classification, clustering, and knowledge graph construction.
- Collaborate with data engineers and backend teams to develop data ingestion and API integration workflows.
- Integrate LLMs into production environments, utilizing prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation methods.
- Evaluate and iterate on model performance using offline and online metrics.
- Take a leadership role in mentoring junior team members and promoting best practices in NLP development.
- Drive strategic initiatives focused on data quality and governance within AI features of the platform.
What You Will Bring
- Master’s in Computer Science, Machine Learning, NLP, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience preferably in NLP or applied ML (industry or research)
- Strong understanding of Transformers (GPT, Llama, etc.) and embeddings
- Proficiency in Goland, Python, and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Experience with NLP libraries (Hugging Face, spaCy, NLTK)
- Familiarity with large-scale data processing and search systems (Elasticsearch, vector DBs)
- Knowledge of knowledge graphs and ontologies
- Experience with RAG architectures and evaluation of LLM outputs
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 156,000 and USD $ 310,800 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
