About the office
The School of Education offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including initial teacher education for early childhood, primary and secondary teachers, and postgraduate programs in early childhood, leadership and management, curriculum, special learning needs and religious education.
About the role
The Administration Officer plays a key role in supporting teaching, learning, and research activities within the National School, while contributing to the effective operational management of the School in partnership with the Administration Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Support School operations through event coordination, meeting scheduling, teaching program assistance, and managing committees, including agendas, minutes, and documentation.
- Deliver high-quality customer service to students and University stakeholders, providing accurate information while maintaining confidentiality.
- Manage administration tasks such as data entry, correspondence, reporting, and written communications.
- Provide financial administration support, including payments, purchase orders, credit card transactions, and invoicing.
- Oversee School facilities, office equipment, and supplies, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by interpreting policies, prioritising work, resolving issues, participating in training, and complying with University standards.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Diploma-level qualification with relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
- Administrative experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, higher education experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of administration policies and procedures, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality client service with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including email, internet applications, Microsoft Office (with SharePoint), and student administration systems, with the ability to quickly learn new tools.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as an effective member of a team.
