Environmental & Sustainability Manager

Manufacturing Mount Bethel, Pennsylvania

Description

At Lamtec, sustainability and environmental responsibility are central to how we operate—not an afterthought. We are looking for an Environmental & Sustainability Manager in Mount Bethel, PA, who is excited to deliver on strategy, partner with senior leadership from day one, and build sustainability initiatives. You will help shape the environmental and regulatory direction of a growing, privately owned manufacturing organization, while making a real impact on the safety and energy performance of buildings worldwide.

What You’ll Do
As our Environmental & Sustainability Manager, you’ll step into a role where the foundation is established—and the opportunity to build, refine, and lead is wide open. You’ll operate as a trusted team-of-one partnering across the organization. While you’ll own this function independently, you’ll be supported by engaged leadership, collaborative plant teams, and external partners. Your goal will be to ensure environmental compliance, strengthen sustainability initiatives, and continuously improve how we operate.

Blending regulatory rigor with strategic influence, you’ll deliver environmental and sustainability programs across multiple manufacturing facilities and product lines.

Environmental & Regulatory Compliance

  • Be the go-to expert ensuring Lamtec meets and stays ahead of environmental requirements—while strengthening systems and processes along the way.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable air, land, and water permits
  • Calculate and manage monthly and annual air emissions
  • Coordinate Requests for Determination (RFDs) with PA DEP
  • Prepare and submit Air Emissions, Tier II, TRI, Residual Waste, Stormwater, and CBAM reports
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators, auditors, and consultants
  • Monitor emerging regulations and proactively assess impacts
  • Manage external regulatory service partner contracts

Product Stewardship & Customer Regulatory Support

  • Respond to customer regulatory inquiries (REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, Prop 65, VOC/LEED)
  • Partner with R&D and technical teams to evaluate raw materials and formulations
  • Develop, maintain, and improve SDS and HPDs
  • Support sustainable product decision-making with regulatory insight

Sustainability Program Leadership

  • Manage GHG inventories and third-party verification efforts
  • Lead sustainability assessments and reporting, including EcoVadis, UN Global Compact, and customer surveys
  • Guide sustainable product development initiatives
  • Support and influence supplier sustainability efforts
  • Help define what sustainability means for Lamtec—and how we deliver it

EH&S Support

  • Collaborate closely with plant teams to support plant EH&S programs and Safety Committee initiatives
  • Maintain Right-to-Know programs
  • Ensure proper chemical handling, labeling, and compliance
  • Serve as a resource and partner to operations—not a roadblock

Program Development & Continuous Improvement

  • You won’t just maintain systems—you’ll improve them.
  • Develop and strengthen ISO 14001–equivalent EMS elements
  • Improve internal tracking, reporting, and documentation systems
  • Support sustainability communications, internal awareness, and website content
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, modernize, and elevate programs over time

Why This Role Is Different

You won’t be starting from scratch—but you also won’t be boxed into “the way it’s always been done.” Success in this role means building scalable, credible programs that support growth, strengthen customer trust, and position Lamtec for long-term environmental and sustainability leadership.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

This role is ideal for someone comfortable owning their function, navigating both structure and ambiguity, and partnering across the organization to get things done. You bring the judgment, confidence, and technical depth to manage today’s requirements—while helping shape what comes next.

  • Experience & Background
    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related technical field (preferred)
    • 5–8 years of experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, EH&S, or regulatory-focused roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment
    • Demonstrated experience managing air, waste, and chemical regulatory reporting, and working directly with regulatory agencies and third-party consultants
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and fixed regulatory deadlines in a fast-moving environment with evolving business needs
    • Experience responding to customer-driven regulatory and sustainability requests in a B2B manufacturing setting (strongly preferred)
    • Working knowledge of sustainability frameworks, GHG accounting, and third-party assessments such as EcoVadis, UN Global Compact, CBAM, or similar
  • How You Work
    • Strong project management skills, with a steady hand when balancing compliance obligations and high-priority, time-sensitive initiatives
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulations into practical action
    • Comfort working independently while collaborating closely with leadership, operations, R&D, and external partners
