What you’ll do
The Service Technician is responsible for providing excellent field support while starting up, commissioning, troubleshooting, servicing and maintaining the equipment we sell. This position provides technical support and training to customers, including contractors, engineers, and end‐users. Main responsibilities include:
- Start up, service, and adjustment of fuel air mixtures for various fire‐tube, water‐tube boiler systems, and industrial boiler/burner systems.
- Perform combustion/efficiency testing on Fuel fired equipment.
- Starting up and servicing various controls on ancillary boiler room equipment. Feed water systems, Pre‐heat kits, Mechanical draft equipment & controls and pumping systems.
- Building Management Systems integration with Modbus, BACnet.
- Troubleshoot and/or make repairs on boilers, water heaters, pumps, draft equipment.
- Provide end‐user training and product demonstration
- Assist the parts department with requests
- Develop & improve processes in the Service Division
- Identify potential Parts & Service quotation opportunities with end user customers
- Basic knowledge of OSHA and service safety requirements
- Complete required documentation and communication associated with service work.
- Obtain the needed training and knowledge base to maintain the ability to conduct service field work on assigned equipment and controls.
- Develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside and outside the organization who can provide information, assistance and support.
- Demonstrate skill in technical areas related to the company products.
- Function effectively when under pressure and maintain self‐control in the face of hostility or provocation.
What you need to thrive in this role
- High School Diploma (or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate)
- Valid driver’s license & clean driving record required
- Experience Operating, Maintaining, and Servicing boilers and boiler equipment
- The drive to learn and succeed
- Construction industry or mechanical contracting experience
- Understanding of construction drawings, as well as wiring diagrams
- Ability to work independently in the field without close supervision and demonstrated a strong and dependable work ethic
- Comprehensive knowledge for the service industry, electrical, mechanical methods, material, equipment, regulations, codes and practices
- Experience with all aspects related to the Service side of a company
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Professional appearance and high integrity standards
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
