Remote-first

Since March 2020, our Zoomers have worked remotely and reported an overall better work-life balance with more time for family and personal wellness.

At the end of 2021, LegalZoom made the official commitment to being a remote-first company. Remote-first means that there is no expectation that Zoomers come into an office for a fixed number of days outside of those employees identified as essential onsite workers. While we remain a remote-first culture, our local offices have evolved as collaboration spaces for Zoomers to meet and engage in person.

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Social Media expert with a strong consumer technology and / or small business background to join our team in a high-impact, high-visibility role of a Group Manager at LegalZoom. Within this role, you’ll have an opportunity to help position LegalZoom as the best place for consumers to start their entrepreneurial journey and make their dreams come true – whether they are a small business owner, start-up or launching a side-hustle. We want a social media leader who is passionate about B2C & B2B strategy and who can elevate LegalZoom storytelling beyond what it is today.

As a leader, you will leverage your expertise to rethink and rebuild LegalZoom’s social media footprint from the ground up. You’ll define a tone and voice across channels and design and implement social media strategy to align with broader marketing and business goals. As Group Manager of Social Media at LegalZoom, you’ll lead a dedicated internal team as well as manage external agency resources to execute the day-to-day functions for social media, while also being responsible for evaluating results and ROI across channels. In this role, you will need a deep understanding of organic paid strategy as well as extensive analytics experience. This will require you to be creative, scrappy, analytical, and strategic with excellent verbal and written communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels of the LegalZoom organization.

You will

  • Be an expert in social media strategy across channels and audiences
  • Have strong background and affinity for consumer technology and / or the small business / entrepreneur space
  • Define tone and voice across all social media channels
  • Have the ability to creativity and emotionally story tell in a way that engages a consumer around a transactional platform
  • Create and implement a channel and content strategy for social backed by insights
  • Work with internal teams to design and execute an organic paid strategy across channels
  • Utilize your deep understanding of the social media landscape while using data as a core driver of future program recommendations
  • Work with internal teams and agencies to develop ongoing social content calendars and corresponding creative assets
  • Manage an external social media agency partner as well as work within the larger marketing team to grow internal social capabilities and resources
  • Demonstrates curiosity and learning about the ever evolving social media space and shows an ability to stay on top of the latest digital technologies, tools
  • Work with key stakeholders and external partners to implement a strategic social media plan focused on results
  • Ensure compliance with all social media guidelines while working across paid and influencer programs
  • Have working knowledge of the small business landscape and audience on social media  
  • Use current tools and resources for implementing and measuring social media programs
  • Work across a larger marketing organization, supporting cross-functional marketing initiatives and programs through social
  • Help guide the executive team around decisions and outline priorities as it relates to social

You have

  • 10-12 years of progressive experience within a social media function
  • Thorough understanding of the social media landscape 
  • Experience managing internal teams and external agencies who support the social media function
  • Successfully leveraged data and analytics to drive social media strategy
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, striving to find the best solution regardless of the current state
  • A proven cross-functional partner and leader with the ability to influence up and across the organization
  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately to the audience in front of you, whether it's a consultative style, having leadership presence, digging down to the details, one on one, or to a broad audience.
  • Strong business acumen, particularly financial and analytical skills
  • Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness
  • Experience within the small business space is preferred

For onsite roles or roles that require periodic onsite visits, LegalZoom requires all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before starting work, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law. The CDC currently defines “fully vaccinated” as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
