Mine Sales Operations Specialist

Vernon, BC ( Potential for Remote)

Role Description

The core purpose of this role is to streamline and optimize sales administration processes, ensuring effective pricing, order fulfillment, and data management to enhance overall sales performance. By coordinating projects and analyzing sales strategies, the position aims to drive efficiency and support the sales and order fulfillment teams in achieving their goals.

 

Core Responsibilities

Pricing Strategy & Administration

  • Research competitive product price positioning and make suggestions to optimize pricing, ensuring competitiveness and maximizing profitability.
  • Understand and leverage system capabilities for managing price administration across mining tire group, and unique to accounts and timing.
  • Liaise with the Stores Commercial Sales teams to as much as possible develop consistency in price administration across Kal Tire.
  • Create and administer price files for mining sales
  • Investigate and offer solutions for different pricing models including package vs unit pricing

 

Order Fulfillment Process

  • Understand order fulfillment capabilities and processes across major vendors and Kal Tire divisions, including Mining Supply Chain, Repair & Retread, Stores and Warehouse.
  • Understand and develop and implement best in class fulfillment processes for client orders, including,
    • Quote process and maintenance
    • Order confirmation process
    • Order tracking against advised ETA
    • Expedite reporting
    • Proof of delivery documents and record keeping
    • Integrations with client order systems
    • Integrations with Kal Tire systems (TOMS, D365, TSS, Kal Tire AR)

 

Product Purchasing Process Through Mine Account Coordinators

  • Support the development and training on direct-to client purchases outside of warehouse, direct through MAC team
  • Collaborate with other departments to create purchasing processes and standards that provide oversight and control, while ensuring purchase payment obligations can be met.
  • Support MAC team to develop product shipping plans within their region by vendor and client.

 

Sales Intelligence and Order Fulfillment Reporting

  • Understand Kal Tire data structures, operating systems, and reporting tools in order to develop Sales Reports that will uncover sales growth opportunities and order fulfillment efficiency opportunities. Data consolidation could be required across several systems including TOMS, TSS, D365, CRM and others.
  • Create reporting platforms that can be accessed by and provide sales and supply insights to Mining Sales Team, Mine Account Coordinator Team and Mining Tire Group Management.
  • Support the development and publication of Sales KPI Reports for the various mining sales and fulfillment groups including Mine Account Coordinators, Regional Sales Managers, Underground Mine Sales, and Fulfillment Stores

 

Order Processes Resources, Training and Guides

  • Create guides, references and tools that support the order fulfillment team in providing consistent supply that exceeds client expectations.
  • Develop systems and templates that can be utilized to support the fulfillment process on a client level across the Mine Account Coordinator group, Stores that support mines, and MTG direct Supply. These tools could include,
  • Account Guide Templates
  • Product Guide Templates
  • Scheduled Supply Planning Meeting Templates and Platform
  • Store Onboarding Guide and Resource Requirements
  • MAC Onboarding and Training Resources
  • Support fulfillment team onboarding and training, this could include support to MAC team or Stores that provide mine order fulfillment.

 

Product Category Intelligence

  • Document core product categories and tier supply options within those categories
  • Analyze products with categories to provide guidance on differentiation and supply selection
  • Support product trials by ensuring there are specific goals, and measures of performance that can then be utilized to select vendors and educate Sales Team on competitive product performance.
  • Examine options for improved consumption forecasting and guidance that can be used by fulfillment teams (MTG, Warehouse and Stores) for stocking.

 

Seasonal & Long Life Cycle Sales Creation

  • Improve resources and sales planning process to capture seasonal and long life cycle mine product sales.
  • Train and support MAC team to undertake their assigned account seasonal and long life cycle sales planning.
  • Support the Regional Sales Managers, Underground Mine Sales and Mine Account Coordinators to ensure Seasonal and Long Life Cycle planning is completed thoroughly and consistently across all mining accounts. This will include audits and support to ensure all seasonal and long life cycle products have been identified and the order triggers have been set and are monitored.

 

Mining Sales Fulfillment Liaison for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System

  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure that ERP system is designed and utilized to ensure the best order fulfillment outcomes. This work will include considering how the MAC team, mining sales fulfillment stores, our site operations teams, and clients interact with orders.

 

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a sales role
  • Experience in warehouse or supply operations
  • Experience directly related to sales or supply in the industrial sector (e.g. Mining, heavy construction, major manufacturing).

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of OTR tires, wheels, valve and wheel hardware and their proper application.
  • Excellent analytical, interpretive and computer skills (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Extensive knowledge of Kal Tire’s internal systems.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment to identify and resolve problems.
  • Understands the core value of customer service and order fulfilment.
  • Ability to operate under pressure.
  • Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets.
  • Ability to apply constructive interpersonal skills.
  • Effective priority setting and decision-making skills.

 

Education

  • Degree or diploma in business administration, sales, marketing, operations, or industry specific degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

 

Special Requirements

  • Some limited travel will be required
