Role Purpose

The Solution Architect plays a pivotal role in advising the Director, Enterprise Solutions, and collaborates closely with various teams to design and plan technology solutions. They ensure that these solutions are in alignment with both business objectives and technology strategies, holding accountability for the architecture of solutions across a range of applications.

 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Develops comprehensive architectural frameworks, guiding the implementation process in accordance with enterprise standards.
  • Maintains and updates application architecture components, adapting them to meet evolving business needs.
  • Evaluates structural changes and integrates new technological advancements into the existing enterprise application architecture.
  • Designs blueprints that streamline application interfaces, minimize redundancy, and optimize data distribution.
  • Supports the management of architecture processes, defines relevant standards, and establishes criteria for selecting solutions.
  • Engages in collaborative efforts to reach consensus on models, tools, and the accessibility of information for stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with various architecture disciplines to define requirements, data models, work groups, applications, user interfaces, infrastructure, and network topology.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of the enterprise application strategy, ensuring its continued relevance.
  • Actively participates in project planning and execution, with a focus on business applications and their business impact.
  • Documents processes, procedures, and technical specifications, providing a clear roadmap and transition plans for enterprise-level applications.
  • Establishes and maintains close working relationships with vendors and service providers

Education 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

 

Work Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working with Enterprise scale systems in large organizations, with 5+ years’ experience as a Solution Architect.
  • 10+ years’ enterprise business experience with a keen interest in learning business processes.
  • 7+ years' experience in designing and implementing advanced application architectures, with experience integrating systems in multi-user, multi-platform, multitasking operating systems environments.
  • Proven experience in providing solution architecture across multiple platforms within an enterprise technical environment.
  • Experience designing and participation in the implementation of Azure PaaS solutions employing Azure Resources such as Logic Apps, Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, Synapse, Data Lake, employing the Infrastructure as Code paradigm (Azure Pipelines, Azure Resource Manager, JSON, YAML), and leveraging Azure Monitor via Log Analytics Workspaces, Alerting and Notification for run time observability.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform including Power Apps (Model and Canvas), Power Automate Flows, Dataverse, Connectors).
  • Experience with implementation of Cloud based applications.
  • Highly desirable certifications for this position may include the following:
    • Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect
    • Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • Microsoft Certified Power Platform Solution Architect
    • Microsoft Certified Dynamics 365 Solution Architect

 

Special Requirements 

  • Evening and occasional weekend work, as required
  • Occasional travel, as required

 

Negotiable Requirements 

  • Experience working in B2B and/or B2C retail and services businesses
  • Experience with the Microsoft Dynamics 365 suite of solutions, point-of-sale solutions and financial and supply chain systems and technologies in general.
  • Experience in building an architecture strategy and best practices
  • A knowledge and appreciation of architecture standards such as TOGAF
