Hearth & Home Technologies is looking for a Sr. Human Resources Generalist to join our Fireplaces Business Unit in Lakeville, MN. We are the nation’s leading manufacturer and supplier of hearth products, including a wide variety of gas, electric, wood and pellet burning fireplaces, inserts, stoves, and accessories. The Fireplaces Business Unit is one of our key business units within Hearth & Home Technologies, featuring leading brands such as Heat & Glo, Majestic, Heatilator, and more. This business unit is dedicated to advancing fireplace technology and design, reflecting our commitment to exceptional quality and comfort.   
 
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources Fireplace Business Unit, the Sr Human Resources Generalist is a key support professional to business leaders and our employees. This role requires a systematic approach to executing detailed activities in a fast-paced environment, including process administration, recruitment coordination, leave management, coordinating and tracking employee engagement activities, HR systems maintenance, and employee relations support. Key Responsibilities 
  • Partner with employees and management to provide guidance on policies, procedures, employment laws, government regulations, and represent the company in unemployment claims
  • Assist in administering performance management, talent reviews, goal setting, and other talent cycle tools to support workforce development
  • Perform full employee life cycle activities including recruitment, facilitation of orientation and onboarding/offboarding activities, across all levels including using a variety of HR Systems including our Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Maintain accurate HRIS and timekeeping systems (e.g., ADP, Kronos) and produce reports as needed
  • Utilize communication templates to send routine communications to business unit members
  • Coordinate and administer all employee leaves, including medical, personal, workers’ compensation, and military leave, in compliance with policies and legal requirements
  • Coordinate and support employee engagement activities
  • Responsible for talent metrics calculations, data reporting, and related compliance activities
  • Respond to employee relations issues, escalating as appropriate
  • Participate in and may lead project teams to implement people strategies for business improvement
  • Collaborate with leadership to drive people processes, ensuring employee capabilities align with current and future business needs
Minimum Requirements 
  • Experience in Human Resources or related field, with a combination of education and work experience totaling 3–6 years
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create and manipulate pivot tables, apply complex formulas, analyze data sets, and generate reports to support decision-making
  • Experience with FMLA, employment law, and compliance with government regulations
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), I9 verification software, HRIS, and timekeeping systems
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Proven ability to handle escalated and sensitive employee relations situations with diplomacy, tact, and professionalism
  • Good judgment to research, analyze, and recommend solutions consistent with policies, laws, and best practices
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
