The Vice President, Member & Community Relations (MCR) is the senior HR leader for Hearth & Home Technologies supporting approximately 2,000 employees across manufacturing, distribution, operational, and corporate functions.  This role is responsible for the execution of human resources programs and the overall effectiveness of the HR function within the entity. While the position operates within the framework of enterprise-wide HR philosophies, policies, and programs established by the parent organization, it retains significant responsibility for translating those priorities into practical solutions that meet the needs of the business.

Reporting to the Corporate Vice President, Member & Community Relations and partnering closely with senior leaders of the organization, the Vice President, MCR provides leadership to a team of human resource professionals. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Serve as the senior HR leader for HHT and a trusted advisor to the President and executive leadership team, ensuring alignment between people strategies and business priorities.
  • Translate enterprise HR strategies, policies, and programs into effective local practices while maintaining consistent application across all HHT locations.
  • Partner with Corporate HR leadership to support enterprise-wide initiatives and ensure subsidiary alignment with broader organizational goals.

Team & Organizational Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 15–20 HR professionals across multiple locations, including HR Directors, HR Business Partners, Talent Development, and Learning & Development.
  • Drive organizational capability through workforce planning, talent gap assessment, performance management, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Lead or support organizational changes, restructuring, acquisitions, and workforce transitions in partnership with enterprise HR and operational leaders.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution, and the consistent application of employment policies, fostering a culture of respect, accountability, and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; partner with Legal and Corporate HR on employment-related risks and litigation matters.

Business Partnership & Operational Impact

  • Partner with operational and functional leaders across planning, business initiatives, and change management efforts to address challenges and support growth objectives.
  • Monitor HR metrics and workforce trends to inform decisions, identify opportunities, and maintain effective HR processes and documentation practices.

 EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field required. 
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive Human Resources experience. 
  • 6+ years of leadership experience managing HR teams and partnering with senior business leaders.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, or operational workforces.
  • Experience supporting organizations with a predominantly hourly employee population.
  • Experience managing employee relations and complex employment issues.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or similar professional certification preferred. 
  • Experience operating within a larger matrixed or multi-entity organization preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements. 
  • Expertise in employee relations, investigations, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Familiarity with compensation, benefits, and talent management practices.
  • Understanding of workforce planning and labor utilization within manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and HR analytics.
