JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for directing, managing, supervising and coordinating the work and activities of the various trade groups on the work site to meet requirements as described in the statement of work or contracts. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that the project maintains the required schedule by organizing, planning, monitoring, and inspecting work.
  • Prepare schedules or assist scheduler for pay estimates and 3-week look ahead.
  • Prepare takeoff or assist project engineer with all required materials and ensure that materials and equipment are delivered to the site on time.
  • Assist project engineer in defining subcontract scope of work and verifying that the subcontractor is on the project when required and progress in accordance with the schedule.
  • Oversee that the activities of various workers do not interfere with one another.
  • Inspect the work of each trade and confirm that not only the quality of the work is up to standard, but that the work is being built in accordance with the plans and specifications.
  • Maintain the safety program and enforce safety regulations and building code requirements.
  • Plan and run weekly progress meeting and assist in the performance of Quality Control preparatory meetings and inspection.
  • Assist with project estimates, bid packages, and schedule preparation and budgets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of ten years of experience as a superintendent
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a Superintendent on projects similar in size and complexity.
  • Minimum of five years of Construction Safety Training
  • Proficiency with Microsoft computer applications
  • 30 hour OSHA certifications
  • Valid Driver's License -- Clear Drivers Abstract

Preferred:

  • Construction Related Degree preferred
  • Experience with Federal DOD Government contracting
  • Certified with EM 385-1-1(Can obtain first week of employment)
  • High attention to detail and quality workmanship

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate work requirements with various staff and subcontractors
  • Able to communicate both written and verbally in English
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change
  • Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices including occupational safety and health regulations
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations
