About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the Hawaii accounting department, including month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Assistant Accounting Manager with Accounts Receivable oversight
  • Support the Accounts Payable Manager
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with cash management
  • Supervise and mentor junior accountants or accounting staff
  • Support audits (internal and external) by providing necessary documentation and responses
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and relevant laws and regulations
  • Monitor and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to support financial decision-making
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficient in accounting software Sage Intacct and Titanium
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling)
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA or CMA certification
  • Experience in Construction, Federal Contracts and Sage Intacct
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and automation tools
