In this role, your goals will be:
In 3 months:
- You will be in pace with the GroupM’s value proposition and familiar with the company culture.
- Able to review the financial reporting prepared by country and provide variance highlights and commentaries.
- Familiar with the WPP reporting structure and system.
- Understand the related company policies and operating procedures.
In 6 months:
- You will be able to make comments on the financial performance, highlight risk or reporting inconsistencies to finance management.
- Manage the ad hoc reporting enquiries with Country Finance.
- Understand the month end closing process of the market and able to prioritize the work with Country Finance.
- Able to design and build ad hoc report in the WPP reporting system.
In 12 months:
- You will be able to provide recommendation, lead and facilitate the change management to drive the reporting efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Review the financial and management reports of the country including actual, budget and forecast reporting. Check and validate the correctness of the reports.
- Prepare regional management report with variance analysis and commentary. Provide highlight to management if any reporting or business risk and opportunity for improvement.
- Closely work with Country Finance for an accurate and timely financial and management reporting with a tracking and monitoring process in place.
- Communicate the Global reporting requirements to country finance team by walking through the guidelines, report templates and procedures. Assist in the implementation of new regulatory or management requirements.
- Ensure the finance function complied to SOX and company policies under the reporting scope.
- Support audit work and communication with internal and external auditors.
- Review the statutory audit report and account reconciliation review with Country Finance.
- Assist in ah hoc projects
What you will need:
- Qualified Accountant with Degree in Accounting/Finance or related discipline.
- At least 6 years of accounting and finance and / or audit experience with preferably multinational companies or listed and sizable companies with multiple legal entities and reporting units. Ideally a mix of audit and commercial experience or Big 4 audit experience.
- Strong financial and management reporting experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal & communication skills with ability and confidence to work with all levels
- Independent, attentive to details, organized, proactive and eager to learn. Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Fluency in both Chinese and English
- High proficient in MS office (Excel and macros). Experience in Hyperion, SAP or similar consolidation and reporting applications is a definite advantage.
