Marketplace Executive
Overview of the role
In your role you will be responsible for negotiating and purchasing of media. Activities include
plan development and investment maintenance; working with Strategy & Planning to
develop recommendations for client campaigns; tracking all aspects of campaign (i.e.
authorisations, specifications, reports, buy changes, etc.); collaborating with Insights team on
reporting and analysis to benchmark and value reporting; and managing relationships with
media partners.

Key Relationships
Internal Departments: Collaborate closely with your client team, including client leads,
comms planners, strategy leads the Marketplace team and other agency and group
departments to manage expectations and collectively deliver the strongest outcomes for
clients.
Media Owners: Establish strong relationships with our media partners at a Sales Executive and
Assistant level.
External: Establish a deep understanding of our client’s business and build strong relationships
with creative agencies.
Role responsibilities
- Engage with our media partners to build knowledge of the media landscape andunderstanding of core media principles and the capabilities of each mediatouchpoint.• Engage with internal product teams including GroupM proprietary solutions teams toensure you have an understanding about their offerings and relevance to our clients.• Activate approved media plans, ensuring campaign deliverables are metconsistently, across all touchpoints.• Book, load, confirm, traffic, optimise, track and post analyse client media campaigns.• Support the construction of insightful and progressive post analysis reports.• Responsible for ensuring all financial and compliance processes are followed with100% accuracy, including bookings and loadings, account queries and monthlyproforma checks.• Seek to find, communicate, and implement improvements in all aspects of the role.• Dedicate time to self-learning through reading industry publications, research papersand online courses (including GroupM University and MFA)• Provide clear guidance and instruction when teaching & helping others.• Openly communicate and collaborate with all internal key stakeholders on deliveryand reporting regularly.5• The role involves the application of specialist technical skills and relative autonomy ofdecision making. It is not a position to which any industrial award applies.
The experience you will need to perform this role
- • Practical knowledge of the media landscape• Relevant experience in Media or Marketing• High level technical skills in organization, communication, problem solving, strategicthought, proactive management.• Demonstrates a clear understanding of clients business, category & challenges• Keeps abreast of key market and media trends, developments or changes that willimpact any buying performance & proactively communicates these to the client• Demonstrates knowledge of relevant media partners across each field - hasawareness of relevant assets and how they can be used in a media strategy• Able to write & provide comprehensive Media Briefs to media partners using ourtemplates• Can challenge and negotiate with media owners to achieve the very best delivery ofall campaigns against the set parameters, never accepting the market or average
