POSITION SUMMARY:
Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, data entry, typing, filing, sorting, utilizing a computer for data entry, conducting research, attending meetings, drafting and distributing reports, interacting with others, reconciling data, creating and updating spreadsheet, and coordinating multiple schedules. Communicating with others is an essential job function. 
 
SALARY: $58,700- $73,300

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The financial data analyst serves within the finance department and is responsible for:
· Assisting in preparation of departmental budgets in partnership with operations
· Producing monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variances against the budget associated with grants/programs/department, etc.
 · Help identify opportunities for financial improvement across the organization
· Preparing financial documents for billing the funders, sending to program managers to assist, identifying insights and compiling analytical reports that enable program in the company to make sound decision.
· Identifying trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement
· Coordinating with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts
· Providing financial models and forecasting
· Monitors spending to ensure grant/program/department remains within budget and elevates concerns to appropriate leaders.
· Estimates and forecasts future financial need and supports programs with financial analytics.
  · Monitors and reports performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost, and schedule objectives are met.
· Forecasts and tracks financial results throughout the year to meet budget projections.
· Organizes budget templates and data in a clear and intuitive manner.
· Helps identify financial or operating risks associated with the execution of the contract or grant
· Provides program summary status reports to management as required or requested.
· Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and program support monthly to program/department managers
 · Review grant related expenses and process/post necessary ledger corrections, or adjustments as necessary.
· Complete revenue, budget, corrections, accounts receivable, and journal entries in accounting software.
· Create all billing documents and manage grant billing functions for assigned grants and programs.
 · Perform duties related to month end closing including grants receivable reconciliations to revenue and payments for each assigned grant.
· Meet with funders (site visits, audits, requested funder meetings).
· Respond to needs of Directors/Program Managers for all items related to grants
 · Review payroll/personnel reports to respective grants. Address discrepancies.
· Meet with each Program Manager/Director to go over fiscal reports related to their respective program(s)/departments.

EDUCATION/LICENSURE:
  • Minimum of Associates Degree in accounting or finance with at least two years of experience preferred, or equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted 
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Qualifications:
  • Experience with a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization strongly preferred  
  •  Consistently display outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills  
  • Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task  
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and structure analysis for complex business issues  
  • Sufficient knowledge to comprehend and create financial analyses  
  • Proven track record of exceeding goals with a bottom-line orientation,  
  • Demonstrate the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment 
  •  Must be proficient in the use of computer spreadsheet applications, accounting software, applications, word processing and email  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, changing environment; manage multiple demands and work well under pressure  
  • Must be able to work independently
