Phlebotomy Technician - Blood Collection Services
Description
Positions available for skilled Phlebotomy Technicians. Perform blood collection services supporting medical readiness processing and laboratory services for military personnel.
Core Duties
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection
- Organize blood collection stations with adequate supplies
- Measure vital signs and hemoglobin levels
- Perform quality control checks on equipment and reagents
- Assist patients after collection and monitor for reactions
- Operate computer workstation for specimen tracking
- Maintain legible and accurate documentation
- Collect and dispose of biohazard materials properly
- Follow safety protocols strictly
Required Credentials
- Education: High school diploma/GED + NAACLS-approved phlebotomy program completion
- Certification: ASCP or AMT certification/registration (or as required by state)
- BLS: Current certification (in-person)
- Experience: 1+ year in hospital, blood bank, or laboratory setting within last 2 years
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizen required
Position Features
- Facility: Fort Bliss Soldier Readiness Processing Center
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, operational hours
- Volume: High-volume blood collection
- Standards: AABB and FDA compliance required
