Rotation: Hybrid 5/2 (MON-FRI) 3 Days/WK In Office
Shift: 8HRs/Day (8am-5pm w/Hour @ Lunch)
Wage: $27-$31/HR, Wage + Bonus.

About the Role:
The Buyer will provide expertise and support in the field of Purchasing / Contract Administration and Warehousing. This position requires a highly motivated and self-directed, organized individual who works well under pressure to meet company initiatives. This individual will thrive in a team atmosphere and has excellent communication skills.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all procurement and purchasing activities on assigned projects
  • Select products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items
  • Estimate values according to knowledge of market price
  • Determine method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid
  • Prepare purchase orders or bid requests
  • Review bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
  • Maintain and ensures manual and computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or QA/QC personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and taking corrective action
  • Support departments in preparations of estimates by contacting vendors for “budgetary pricing” for equipment and materials
  • Review bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
  • Review orders to determine product types and quantities required to meet demand
  • Maintain records of business transactions and product inventories, reporting data to companies or government agencies as necessary

    Technical Competencies
    • Knowledge of accounting and budgetary practices and principles
    • Ability to quickly calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and use Internal Software Programs
    • Knowledge of laws, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to corporate purchasing practices.

Education & Work Experience
Two year College Business Diploma and/or Equivalent PMAC (Purchasing Management Association of Canada Courses) or Minimum 3 years’ work experience in a Buyer position.
