About the Role:
As an Underground Surveyor with Dumas, you will work under the direction of the Project Superintendent and be responsible for providing accurate surveying support for underground development, construction, and production activities. This role will involve both lateral and vertical development work while ensuring project plans and survey data are updated and communicated effectively to operations personnel. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project planning, production activities, and maintaining accurate underground layouts in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily underground surveying duties in support of development, construction, and production activities.
- Complete survey work for both lateral and vertical underground development.
- Update and maintain project and production blueprints, plans, and survey records daily.
- Prepare and distribute survey plans and prints to construction, development, and production personnel as required.
- Support planning and production meetings by providing survey data and technical information.
- Operate underground and surface vehicles as required to complete surveying activities.
- Ensure survey equipment is maintained and functioning properly.
- Follow all company, client, and site safety policies and procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions or acts immediately and take corrective action where appropriate.
- Participate in workplace inspections and hazard assessments.
- All other duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of underground mine surveying experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office, MS Outlook, Excel, A-Mine, and Deswik software.
- Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret mine plans and technical drawings.
- Experience working in underground mining environments preferred.
- Outstanding safety record and commitment to safe work practices.
- Thorough knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations as they pertain to mining operations.
