Creative Operations Specialist

 

We’re looking for a Creative Operations Specialist to support the People Inc. Design Group. In this role, you will define, build, and maintain workflows, tools, and automations that enable our design and creative teams to scale their operations and deliver higher volumes of creative work efficiently using automation and generative AI. This role bridges creativity, technology, and operations—helping our teams work faster while maintaining brand consistency and quality.
In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid, in-office three days per week at the People Inc. New York City or Des Moines office, with the ability to work remotely for up to two days.

The Design Group at People Inc. comprises multiple teams spanning Revenue & Marketing Design, Brand & Editorial Design, Product & UX Design, Design Systems, Creative Operations, Transactional Creative, and Events.
Within the group, the Creative Operations team drives efficiency, governance, and scale across all creative disciplines—managing workflows, vendors, contracts, usage rights, and tooling. By centralizing systems and processes, we ensure the Design Group—and the broader creative function—has the infrastructure and resources to produce exceptional, brand-consistent work at both speed and volume.



Assignment Responsibilities:

Build, implement, and optimize creative workflows and systems
  • Identify repeatable production tasks and develop automation or AI-assisted solutions (e.g., template generation, resizing, content variations).

  • Build and maintain reusable resources such as prompt libraries, template frameworks, style guides, and brand asset repositories.

  • Evaluate, integrate, and govern creative production tools (AI generation, automation, image/video processing, DAMs).

  • Partner with creative teams to implement QC checkpoints and ensure automated outputs meet brand standards.

  • Monitor production metrics (turnaround time, volume, error rates, consistency) and refine processes for continuous improvement.

Enable adoption, training, and future readiness
  • Train and support internal teams and contractors on new tools, workflows, and best practices.

  • Stay current on emerging AI/automation technologies; pilot new tools and assess their impact on creative production.

  • Partner with Legal, Tech, and AI and Product Operations to provide guidance on governance, licensing, and ethical considerations in AI-generated content.

 

Skills/Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong design background with proven experience applying automation or AI in production workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) and generative AI platforms.
  • Familiarity with APIs, scripting, or low-code/no-code solutions.
  • Experience mapping workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing scalable processes.
  • Strong design sensibility with quality-first mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
    Detail-oriented, systems-driven, and technically curious.
  • Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience managing creative workflows and reporting dashboards in Airtable, DAM or version control experience, video/motion automation knowledge, contractor/vendor management, familiarity with licensing/ethics of AI-generated content.
