News and Deals Writer, Amazon

 

The News and Deals Writer will support the Amazon vertical within the Transaction team and create shopping content for several People Inc. brands, namely People. They will focus on sourcing deals and compelling products across various categories, including fashion, home, travel, beauty, and more. This role requires someone who is passionate about writing, shopping, finding great deals, and can produce multiple articles a day, creating content that inspires People Inc.’s large audiences to make informed purchases.



Assignment Details: 

 

40 hours a week
Start date: ASAP
End date: 3 months with potential to extend
Hourly Rate: $35 
Location: Remote - US

 

Assignment Responsibilities:

 

  • Pitch and write multiple timely, deal-oriented shopping articles daily that generate strong affiliate revenue
  • Use data and analytics to brainstorm and guide content decisions
  • Collaborate closely with writers and editors on the Transaction team and across People Inc. 
  • Keep up with all things related to Amazon, including new product launches, sales, and large sale events
  • Research, reach out to, and interview experts to provide background information and quotes as needed
  • Attend and participate in weekly meetings
  • Prepare content for major shopping events, like Prime Day and Black Friday

 

Skills/Experience:

 

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that works across multiple brands
  • A strong, fast writer well-versed in Amazon.com; experience writing commerce content is a plus 
  • Familiar with SEO best practices and have experience creating SEO-driven content
  • Well versed with AP style
  • Familiar with the People Inc. portfolio, and able to adapt to numerous brand voices and writing styles
  • Experienced with digital media tools such as a CMS and Google Analytics; Greenhouse experience is a plus
  • Comfortable working with data and analytics and conducting keyword research
  • An expert in writing compelling headlines that drive high engagement/page views
  • Excellent at communicating with others 
  • You have 2+ years related experience
