IT System Administrator
People Inc. is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to support, maintain, and modernize enterprise infrastructure during ongoing data-center decommissioning and cloud-migration projects. The ideal candidate brings strong Windows Server, identity-management, and automation skills, plus experience across hybrid on-prem and cloud environments.
Assignment Details:
40 hours a week
Start date: ASAP
End date: 6 months with potential to extend
Hourly Rate: $60
Location: Primarily remote or hybrid, with occasional on-site visits.
Assignment Responsibilities:
- Windows Servers: Administer 200+ servers, handle patching, monitoring (Prometheus/Grafana), and lifecycle management.
- Directory & Identity: Manage Active Directory (AD), Azure AD, and serve as the Okta–AD integration expert for SSO and MFA.
- Infrastructure & Migrations:
- Support NYC Data Center application cloud migrations.
- Assist with data center decommission including Nutanix.
- Administer Rubrik backups and Sectigo certificates.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Build and maintain monitoring dashboards, and coordinate with application stakeholder to define metrics and alerts; produce system inventory and ownership reports.
- Networking & Peripheral Support: Manage DNS (non-Route 53) supporting network devices ClearPassand printers authentication.
- Cloud Operations: Support workloads running in AWS, Azure, or GCP, including VM management, IAM, compute/storage, and connectivity configurations.
Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years in systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong Windows Server and patch-automation experience.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of Okta, Active Directory, and Azure AD integration.
- Experience with Linux, Nutanix, and Rubrik.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized environments
- Experience with Prometheus/Grafana, Loki, Splunk, or ELK monitoring and logging.
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
Preferred: Cloud-migration background, ITIL knowledge, and certifications such as Microsoft Administrator.
