Position Summary:

This is a hands-on and on-site position. The IT Manager will report directly to the Sr. Director, Global IT Infrastructure and is based in Glendale. He / she will be responsible for the implementation and support of all infrastructure systems that includes security system (firewall), routers, switches, access points, servers, workstations, printer, RF devices, and disaster recovery of all systems within this location. The incumbent will collaborate closely with other teams to align with technology standards and technology roadmaps ensuring the stability and security of the location is met. The individual must possess strong leadership, communication, great customer skills, planning skills, vendor management, and have experience with a broad range of technologies normally used in a warehouse. The IT Manager will also ensure issues and resolutions are met in minimum time, evaluate newer solutions, and suggest changes to existing solution and process to better service the end user.

 

Responsibilities:

  • The #1 priority of this position is to ensure the systems supporting the warehouse is always up and running, respond with urgency when there are issues, and actively looking to tune and maintain to avoid unscheduled downtime. Supported systems include:
    • RF Infrastructure, including access points, controllers, handheld and truck mounted guns.
    • Manage vendor supporting the conveyor systems and vendor application.
    • Responsible for access on Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Responsible for the support of the distribution center (Glendale and Tucson) and maintenance of the infrastructure services covering all network devices (firewall, routers, switches, access points, servers, workstations, RFs, and printers), operating system, and application uptime running on the physical and virtual server infrastructure and to ensure stability and up to date operating systems and patches.
  • Proactively monitor and conduct performance tuning, security administration, capacity planning, and disaster recovery (server backups)
  • Ensures users are provided with efficient, effective, and timely support on a 24x7 basis; manages staff schedule to ensure optimal coverage and responsiveness between multiple sites.
  • Experience with vendor performance management - development and monitoring of SOWs and deliverables, SLA compliance, and general vendor relationship management.
  • Identifies incident commonalities and initiates and, when applicable, oversees problem management and root-cause identification exercises to identify and correct major problems.
  • Experience with measuring and tracking team performance metrics. This includes First Call Resolution, Talk Times, Avg. Speed to Respond, Trouble tickets, Service requests and Change Requests resolution.
  • Maintain individual team metrics and use results to help develop individuals and improve team performance. Establish a cycle of continuous service improvement with measurable improvement targets.
  • Communicate regularly with staff through group meetings and individual sessions; ensure issues/input from team is listened to and that organization/department strategy/goals/decisions are communicated consistently and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with developing and enforcing IT procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Manage Onboarding/Offboarding and IT request ticketing system SLAs.
  • Provide IT license forecasting (including Microsoft M365 licenses), contract negotiations, technology refresh, and budget.
  • On call support for the warehouse operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two or more certification in the following:
    • VMware (VCP or VCAP)
    • Microsoft (MCSA or MCSE)
    • Cisco (CCNA)
  • 5 + years with network design, configuring, troubleshooting WAN / LAN layer 2 and 3 site to site VPN, QoS, DNS, TCP/IP protocols, and IPv6.
  • 5 + years’ experience with virtualization, VMWare
  • 5 + years’ experience with Microsoft Active Directory 2016 and above, AD Forrest with Parent and Child Domains, Group Policy, Security Templates, LDAP protocol and attributes
  • 5 + years’ experience with PowerShell scripting and workstation deployment tools used for rolling out patches.
  • 5 + years’ experience supporting Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Experience with IBM iSeries Client Access installation and 5250 emulation configurations
  • Experience with Server and desktop imaging software and standards
  • Expert troubleshooting skills in Operating Systems and Application but not limited to Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange, Windows 10 and above, MAC Operating Systems, and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with Cloud Services
  • Knowledge of configuring IP cameras
  • Ability to work under pressure and within strict time constraints while working in a changing environment with continually changing direction and requirements.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-directed and capable of taking initiative.

Environmental Factors:

  • Working conditions are normal for an office and warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally for business (% if needed)
  • We currently operate on a hybrid schedule; candidate must be willing to come into the office 50% of time.
