Position Summary:
The IT Cloud System Engineer role is responsible for the tool and service designs within a technical domain that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance, standards, and policies. You will deploy solutions for our private and public cloud (Azure) using configuration provisioning and management tools (Example, for creating and managing virtual machines running various flavors OS such as Linux, Apple, or Windows). Once in production your role is key to ensure that solutions are operable: maintainable, manageable, and stable. This individual embraces a culture that drives innovation and continuous improvement. The candidate must be team-oriented, flexible, accountable, and work on multiple priorities in a fast-paced collaborative work environment. In addition, the individual will work with internal IT support teams and business partners providing tier 2 support on all Mac OS, Mac Server, and Apple endpoints.
Responsibilities:
- You will directly contribute to the overall IT strategy that supports and delivers the best-in-class services and outcomes to our customers.
- Partner with IT teams to execute cloud services provisioning automation with integrated capabilities of Single-Sign-on (SSO), security policies, procedures, and standards to protect the organization’s assets and data.
- Provide patch management, automation, and MacOS hardening for the deployment of all apps and JAMF host servers.
- Creating and administering Apple operating system installation and application packages using JAMF.
- Responsible for the support and maintenance of the Mac OS and various apple endpoints. Provide tier two support for all global Apple issues that cannot be solved by tier one support.
- Assist with the execution of the cloud infrastructure migration from on-premises to Azure and the deployment of newer services on Azure.
- Responsible for the administration and support of our O365 and Azure environment include Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and migration strategies (on-going).
- Proactively monitor and recommend opportunities for improvement for the data center (servers & storage) and cloud infrastructure.
- Assist with IT management to define templates, requirements, assess risks, and establish cloud infrastructure standards and best practices.
- Asist in translating business requirements into technical definitions and be able to execute as needed.
- Review, recommend, and execute solutions our of the box features of OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, and Power Platform.
- Investigate current and new features and make recommendation of Azure and especially Microsoft 365.
- Responsible for the support, monitoring, and performance of on-premises and Cloud (Azure) cloud services, servers, storage, databases, user endpoints (Mac) and backups & recovery.
- Partner with global teams to ensure backups and recovery solution (Veritas) is maintained and operations are in place to ensure recovery of systems during business continuity events.
- Participate regularly with group meetings to ensure department strategies and issues resolution are carried out in a timely manner.
- Develop user documentation for all supported systems and under the guidance of IT management, assist with the training to the end user community.
- Work with vendors as needed to maintain the infrastructure and resolve issues.
- Performed other duties as assigned.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
- Two or more certification in the following:
- VMware (VCP or VCAP)
- Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE, Microsoft 365, or Microsoft Azure)
- Apple Certification
- 5+ years hands-on Mac support expertise including Adobe support and Mac Servers
- 5 + years’ experience with virtualization, VMWare
- 5 + years’ experience with migration projects to cloud infrastructure, including planning, execution, and post migration support.
- Experience working in one or more environment highly integrated with Mac OS and Linux operating system and applications such as Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with MDM solutions (i.e., JAMF, Intune)
- Experience with federated services (SSO)
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory services design, implementation, configuration, administration and troubleshooting at an enterprise level.
- Strong understand of supporting O365, M365, and Azure environments especially Exchange OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation for O365 and Azure administration
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
- Proven abilities to work independently, IT teams, and business users.
- Ability to work under pressure and within strict time constraints while working in a changing environment with continually changing direction and requirements.
- Self-directed and capable of taking initiative.
Environmental Factors:
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally for business (% if needed)
- We currently operate on a hybrid schedule; candidate must be willing to come into the office 50% of time.
