Position Summary:

The National Account Manager will work to create long-term, trusting relationships with our customers while also hunting for new business opportunities.  The National Account Manager’s role is to oversee a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities. The individual must be high energy, self-motivated, competitive, adaptable, intellectually curious, with an aptitude and desire to uncover new business opportunities while maintaining and developing long-term relationships with customers. This individual will play a pivotal role in representing us at multiple retailers within the Midwest Territories.

               This is a Remote position based out of either New York, Chicago, IL, or surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Profitability at assigned accounts and/or region.  This would include generating and achieving annualized sales budgets; identifying, pursuing and securing new sales opportunities; and maintaining and growing existing businesses, all with a focus on profitability.
  • On-going forecasting at assigned accounts to provide best possible guidance to internal teams for planning purposes.  This will include preparing for demand planner calls and ensuring our inventory on hand/on order is in line with needs.
  • Developing & executing profitable promotional strategies at assigned accounts and then tracking results post event.
  • Managing expenses as it relates to Coop, Operations, Chargebacks, etc.…for assigned accounts and ensuring spend rates stay within budget.
  • Item setup and maintenance in retailer platforms (including cost changes when necessary).
  • Communicating assigned accounts’ strategic initiatives to the internal HBAC teams (these initiatives would include merchandising, brand, operational, logistical, etc.…).
  • Responsible for all Divisional communication to assigned accounts and building relationships accordingly.
  • Obtaining, interpreting, and utilizing available data (including but not limited to, Account POS, Syndicated Data (Circana/Nielsen), Shopper Insights, etc...).
  • Directing/managing sales rep/broker network at assigned accounts.
  • Identifying and successfully attending those trade/industry shows deemed most appropriate for growing Conair’s HBAC business.
  • Follow internal controls and company policies as set by company and job function.
  • Contribute to the success of company by leading or assisting with other projects and tasks as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Minimum of 5 years of proven sales experience in the CPG environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience setting sales goals.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Outlook), and internet applications.
  • Experience with analyzing and interpreting syndicated data sources
  • Strong customer service, negotiation skills and ability to interact with customers at all levels throughout their organization.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management, multi-tasking, strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of integrity, trustworthiness and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Creative in brainstorming and proposing new ideas and solutions to existing problems.
  • Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of consumer behaviors and industry trends.

Environmental Factors:

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally for business (if needed). Travel is estimated at 15%-20%.
