Position Summary:

The Category Manager will provide a variety of internal and external market research and data analysis to multiple internal and external customers (Sales, Marketing, Product Managers, Brokers, etc.). The position is fast paced and will manage numerous projects at any given time.

Responsibilities:

Deeply analyze primary and secondary data sources developing business solutions around insights found. Develop planograms that reflect these insights and the needs of the consumer and customer. Present to customers plans for growth.

  • Utilize IRI, Nielsen and NPD (both syndicated and consumer), DOMO, JDA (ProSpace) space management software, etc. systems to provide decision support, shelf management support, and fact-based selling tools to numerous internal and external customers.
  • Assist in developing strategies by account for space gain and shelf schematics in accordance with company standards to ensure the highest level of exposure and profitability for Conair products.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Product Development, and Operations on new item introductions, product supply planning, and other activities.
  • Perform tracking and product movement analysis using internal shipment information, syndicated data, and account point of sale (POS).
  • Assist in database maintenance and development to help the organization acquire accurate data faster.
  • Reports to Sr. Category Management.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Business/ Marketing
  • People Management skills. Advanced knowledge of Excel, Power point, Word, and pivot tables. Creative, think outside the box and willing to work with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment. Must have experience and additional skills IRI, Nielsen, and JDA Prospace.
  • 3 to 8 Years of Experience
  • Strong analytical skills, customer focus, and a high-level of initiative are critical. Use of PC based applications (Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrate a high competency in business analysis.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and facilitate cross-organizational teams.
  • The ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and understandable manner both orally and in writing maintaining frequent contact with internal and external partners.
  • Willingness to educate, mentor, and transfer knowledge and skills to others.
  • Individuals must be aware of and able to incorporate company and customer objectives and strategies into highly actionable, analysis-based recommended courses of action.
  • Must be adept at developing and maintaining strong business building relationships with key customer contacts.
  • Must be willing to travel 35% of the time.

Environmental Factors:

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally for business (% if needed)
  • We currently operate on a hybrid schedule; candidate must be willing to come into the office 50% of time.
