Position Summary:
Our Professional Barber Category is currently seeking an Associate Product Manager who will work closely with their manager and play an integral part of creating product from inception to manufacturing and maintaining product throughout its life cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with new product concepts, design, planning, development, packaging and launch strategies.
- Draw, Design, and create 3D files for new products.
- Test, analyze, and modify new product developments prior to tooling.
- Become the expert in terms of product knowledge: material, specification, production, regional/sourcing, cost-engineering/cost component.
- Handle time sensitive responsibilities and communications from Asia in a timely and professional manner.
- Regularly liaise with Engineering, Field Testers, Planning, Manufacturing, Operations, Creative and Sales.
- Initiate, manage and track creative process to develop packaging and instructional materials.
- Assist with existing product maintenance.
- Monitor existing product sales, inventory, and forecasting to help determine next steps in overall product strategy.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to determine the validity of new products and determine competitive baseline.
- Set-up new product information in SAP.
- Assist with general department assignments and trade-show preparation.
- Analyze the marketplace by visiting trade shows and competitors’ websites. Provide recaps to help make informed decisions. Prepare supporting information for key meetings.
- Domestic travel required (20%), to manage existing programs, attend events and evaluate opportunities required (per state, federal guidelines)
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience required, preferably in product development.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically and conceptually.
- Ability to maintain positive attitude and adapt quickly to support process improvement.
- Experience in product development
- MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PPT, SAP Experience
- CAD, Solid Works, or PRO-E experience required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
Environmental Factors:
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally for business (% if needed)
- Must be Covid-19 vaccinated.
- We currently operate on a hybrid schedule; candidate must be willing to come into the office 50% of time.
