Overview:
Join the world-famous Durham Bulls Baseball Club, widely recognized as the best show on dirt, located in the heart of Central North Carolina. We’re searching for our next Sponsorship Sales Assistant in outside sales, needed to generate new sponsorship business. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, enthusiastic about sales, confident with cold calling, and organized in scheduling. In addition, the successful candidate will assist in the sales process for other CBC sports properties and special events, including the Coastal Plains League and the Holly Springs Salamanders.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Ability to engage in outside sales through cold calling, emailing and meetings as required.
- Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Excellent listening skills, oral and written communication skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability and drive to meet and/or exceed assigned sales goals.
- Research and build relationships with local companies/brands to highlight the advantages of investing in the Durham Bulls brand and CBC Sports overall.
- Entertain clients and work various game day events (including some nights and weekends)
- Ability to learn and understand the sports sponsorship landscape including traditional, non-traditional, and digital marketing assets and stay up to date on changes and advancements within the industry
- Perform other related duties as required
Required Qualifications:
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience putting together and giving presentations
- An understanding of marketing/promotions
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation
- Sports marketing knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
- A four-year college degree
- Sports marketing experience
- Radio and/or television advertising exposure
- Internet research skills
