Capitol Broadcasting Company is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst. The FP&A Analyst will play a key role in supporting the company's financial reporting, forecasting, and oversight of business performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively. This role requires an initiative-taking individual who can work independently as well as part of a team to provide insight and support to the executive team and business leaders.
Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis:
- Collaborate with the FP&A Director to develop and enhance the reporting suite across BUs, encompassing key metrics, recurring reports, and detailed data packages.
- Update and analyze key performance indicators across various industries to deliver actionable, real-time insights and recommendations to the management team.
- Perform detailed financial analysis and modeling to support business decisions and assess performance.
- Collect and analyze key financial data in preparation for monthly financial reports, including variances, drivers, action items, and risks/opportunities.
- Responsible for aggregating monthly MD&A submissions from Business Units (BUs) to update financial reports for the executive team and key stakeholders.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support to the FP&A Director as needed.
Financial Planning:
- Develop, refine, and update corporate financial models essential for both short-term and long-term planning.
- Support in the preparation and execution of the organization’s annual budget and 5-year projections.
- Collaborate with Corporate and BU leadership on budget and forecast inputs ensuring alignment with operational and strategic objectives.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support to the FP&A Director as needed.
Strategic Decision Support:
- Support the FP&A Director in developing long-term financial plans and strategic initiatives.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining a corporate-level operational framework that outlines the company’s projected path over the next five years.
- Conduct scenario analysis and modeling to evaluate the impact of various strategic options.
- Assist in preparing and assessing business cases to justify investments across Business Units (BUs).
- Provide ad hoc support and analysis to aid management decision-making.
- Provide other duties as assigned to support organizational operations and goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting at a public or PE backed company.
- Experience with financial reporting tools and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Smartview).
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills including financial reporting tools and software.
- Prior experience with database tools and data visualization software a plus (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
- Business partnership mentality required – viewed as resource to the executive team and BU Leadership.
- Skills/proficiency in: Excel, PowerPoint, and effective communication/presentation skills that distill raw data into actionable insights for business leaders.
