Position Summary
The Team Lead position is responsible for front-line leadership of a team engaged in the operation of high speed manufacturing/packaging equipment and/or process-driven Reagent formulation.
The Team Lead position includes:
- All aspects of production/packaging and maintenance work including inspection, maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing/process equipment.
- Assist in the development of employees.
- Drive accountability for team performance metrics and projects.
- Effectively leading quality initiatives critical to the department’s ability to improve manufacturing processes.
- Improve departmental productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
- Reduce manufacturing costs/scrap.
Primary Duties
- Serve as a back up to Supervisor when needed, assist in management daily activities.
- Develop Manufacturing team by motivating team members and promoting internal development within the team.
- Manufacturing and Packaging. Operate and maintain highly automated manufacturing equipment in a CGMP manner with HMI/SCADA interfaces.
- Provide feedback on design and operation of equipment to optimize manufacturing and troubleshoot moderate equipment related issues.
- Documentation review and submission of batch records.
- Perform self audit of production areas and support parts cleaning operation.
- Assist with manufacturing deviation analysis, CAPA actions and other process equipment related quality concerns.
- Train and certify team mates on production processes and procedures.
- Utilize SOP and documentation to record data manually or through dedicated software applications and also assist in the development, revision of manufacturing directions.
- Ensure team training is maintained, coordinate cross training among roles to create staffing flexibility and increased depth.
- Lead and promote continuous improvement through team and individual initiatives.
- Partner with cross functional groups on a daily basis to resolve production and quality issues.
- Communicate with supply chain on consumable inventory and utilize SAP to manage activities.
- Contribute to team goal development, status tracking and communication through feedback to direct manager for the evaluation process.
- Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education, Training and Experience
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- 5+ years of related experience in a Manufacturing/Production regulated environment with GMP background.
Preferred Education, Training and Experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in the operation of high speed, highly automated production equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience in following OSHA regulations (LOTO, electrical safety, etc.) preferred.
- Knowledge of FDA and/or GMP regulations preferred.
- Ability to rapidly learn new procedures and mechanical background preferred.
- Attention to detail and ability to interpret technical documentation.
- Must be able to learn, comprehend and demonstrate competency in operation of new equipment or new area within a 75-day period of working with a trainer.
- Demonstrated experience of working independently.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills required with ability to prioritize work.

- Ability to remain in stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged periods.
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like.
- Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery.
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

- Position requires ability to multi task, work in several manufacturing areas and support parts cleaning activities which involves frequent standing and use of water.
