PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
As our Senior Systems Engineer - AWS, you will: 
 
  • AWS Infrastructure Design: Design and implement AWS solutions that align with our business and technical requirements, ensuring security, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Deployment and Configuration: Deploy and configure AWS services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform, ensuring seamless integration and automation.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards, safeguarding our cloud environment against potential threats.
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Set up monitoring and alerting using AWS CloudWatch, proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization for maximum efficiency.
  • High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement solutions for high availability and disaster recovery, leveraging AWS services like Auto Scaling and backup solutions.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve technical issues, collaborating with support teams to minimize downtime and maintain optimal system performance.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of AWS architecture, configurations, and procedures, ensuring knowledge sharing and continuity.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
To excel in this role, you'll need: 
  • Education and Certification: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred), along with AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing AWS infrastructure, coupled with proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, and IAM.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, security best practices, and compliance requirements, with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 
  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
  • Able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone.
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Regular and on-time attendance.
  • Must be able to prioritized, schedule and complete testing required for multiple applications with overlapping schedules.
  • A certain degree of creativity and flexibility is required.
  • Hours may exceed 40 hours per week.
  • Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
