Berry Appleman & Leiden is not your typical law firm when it comes to technology. We've built an in-house Products team from the ground up that is dedicated to building the best technology in our industry. Join our dynamic team as a Senior Automation Quality Assurance Engineer! In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the development and deployment of cutting-edge, multi-tier, distributed applications. Your responsibilities will encompass creating, publishing, and executing comprehensive test plans throughout the software's lifecycle. As a key team member, you will manage our internal bug database, collaborate with external QA experts, and closely coordinate with our application development and support teams. Your work will directly impact product excellence, as you publish test results, establish robust quality assurance standards, and diligently monitor key metrics, including defect densities and open defect counts. RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Defines, develops, and implements quality assurance practices and procedures, test plans, and other QA assessments. 
  • Establishes standards and best practices.  
  • Ensures that all items follow the change management process and are entered and tracked through the change management software. 
  • Executes automated testing systems using commercial tools, scripts, and data set.  
  • Works directly with appropriate personnel to understand project concepts, objectives, and approaches of software development projects.  
  • Able to work independently. 
  • Participate in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load, and system testing.  
  • Assures the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects by working with developers to ensure the software development process has an appropriate level of testing.  
  • Creates effective manual and automated test plans, using a variety of toolsets.  
  • Works collaboratively with team leader, other team members, and applications developers during all stages of projects to provide in-process testing results.  
  • Records and reports on testing metrics.  
  • Track and report defects using appropriate tool. 
  • Other duties as assigned.  

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Math or Computer Science or equivalent experience.  
  • 4+ years performing black box, functional, and regression testing of web-based applications.   
  • Experience with JIRA, and TestRail preferred. 
  • Experience conducting responsive web design testing preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with other members in the team and programmers in a cross-functional team.  
  • Excellent knowledge of SDLC standards and QA testing methodologies. 
  • Extensive experience writing test plans, test designs, and system test scripts. 
  • Experience developing and conducting manual and automated test scripts using Selenium or other automated test technology. 
  • Experience working with outsourced QA resources. 
  • Must be very detail-oriented and have excellent problem-solving skills. 
  • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision, and in a collaborative team environment. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Must be able to prioritize, schedule, and complete testing required for multiple applications with overlapping schedules. 
  • A certain degree of creativity and flexibility is required. 
  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.  

  

WORKING CONDITIONS: Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time. Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis. Able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone. Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally. Regular and on-time attendance. Must be able to prioritized, schedule and complete testing required for multiple applications with overlapping schedules. A certain degree of creativity and flexibility is required. Hours may exceed 40 hours per week. Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
