Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, the Senior accountant will assist with general accounting, financial statement preparation, and various special projects. The role will initially assist in implementing new areas within the finance shared services group and assist with process improvement to achieve industry best practices within the US GAAP framework. The role supports the local accounting at the regional level and at the corporate level as well as providing guidance through establishing accounting standards. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities  
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and monthly reporting
    • Monthly reconciliation of AP, AR and Cash
    • Monthly key metrics reporting
    • Weekly exceptions reporting
  • Cash analysis
    • Assist in developing centralized budget to actual cash tracking and cash visibility
    • Assist in various centralization efforts across the organization
  • Oversite and management of systems for leases, T&E and Accounts payable (Leasequery, Concur, Yooz)
  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Assist with royalty calculations and entries
  • Assisting with annual audit requests, financial statement tie-outs and preparation and providing documentation to auditors as requested
  • Assisting VP of Finance with ad-hoc special projects
  • Assisting VP of Finance with accounting/finance system upgrades and implementations
  • Assisting VP of Finance with process improvements
Qualifications 
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • CPA Preferred, but not required
  • Experience with general ledger
  • Must meet the age requirement as outlined by state cannabis agencies
  • Able to pass all background checks/fingerprinting as required by state cannabis agencies
  • Able to provide valid badging/credentials as required by state cannabis agencies
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting, including GAAP, inventory management, and budgeting

  • Knowledge and/or experience of 280E and other cannabis-specific tax regulations required

Education  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting or Finance required
Experience  
  • Experience with US GAAP, application of accounting policies and account reconciliations
  • Minimum of three years of accounting or finance shared services experience
