Director of Business Development

Job Description Overview:

Director of Business Development need to lead a team to drive strategy and executions for ASUS’s Data Center Solutions. This person is able to work independently and strategically to plan and execute business goals. The ideal candidate must have track record and experiences with the captioned regions, plus language requirements if such regions require.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Owning and hitting/exceeding annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts
  • Developing and executing strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base.
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Understand category-specific landscapes and trends
  • Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
  • Coordinate local function teams with headquarters project teams to achieve the business goal
  • Create win-win business cases and must be able to articulate the ASUS brand value proposition, seize opportunities based on market analytics and negotiate ASUS presence at named accounts.
  • Expand existing client accounts for retention and growth.
  • Collaborate with the product management team to plan product assortment in accordance with established goals.


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in related field or equivalent.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of business development and/or commercial (SI/VAR/DMR) and/or (OEM/ODM) account/ product management in the technology space, ideally server and storage hardware products.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven sales executive experience, meeting or exceeding targets
  • Previous experience as a sales executive, sales manager or sales and marketing director
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors
  • Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Have work experience in server industry or related industry for more than 20 years
Working Conditions
  • Ability to travel, travel (US region), this may involve on-site customer visits, trade shows and assigned tasks

$150,000 - $220,000 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. It does not include bonuses, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D insurance, Paid Time Off, EAP, & 401(k). The final amount will be determined based on qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
