IT Security Analyst

ECC is seeking an IT Security Analyst in our San Antonio, TX office. The IT Security Analyst I performs two core functions for the enterprise.  The first is the monitoring and oversight of day-to-day operations of the in-place security solutions.  The second is the identification, investigation, and resolution of security breaches detected by those systems.  Secondary tasks may include involvement in the implementation of new security solutions, participation in the creation and or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures as well as conducting vulnerability audits and assessments.  The IT Security Analyst I is expected to be fully aware of the enterprise’s security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures, and guidelines and to actively work towards upholding those goals. In this position, you will: 

  • Assess the relative impact of IT industry trends to current and future enterprise security needs
  • Interface with IT functional area managers and stakeholders to define security initiatives and solutions for the protection of data and resources
  • Participate in the development, execution and enforcement of enterprise security strategy elements, policies, procedures and standards
  • Analyze trends and develop long-range plans designed to maintain cost-effectiveness and competitiveness of the enterprise’s IT security infrastructure
  • Participate in IT strategy planning activities, bringing current knowledge and future vision of IT security and best practices as related to the needs of the business
  • Proactively research and recommend courses of action to prevent security breaches and data loss
  • Help develop key performance indicators, metrics, and service level agreements related to IT security
  • Ensure that vendor, outsourcing, and consultant contracts are created and executed in accordance to Company policies
  • Collaborate with IT management, the Legal Department and law enforcement agencies to manage security vulnerabilities and incidents
  • Work with the Learning and Development Group to create, implement and maintain client security awareness and training
  • Actively participate in ongoing education related to computer security and security community workgroups
  • Manage, architect and implement security-specific technologies (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Web and Email Security, SIEM, MFA, SSO, Proxies, etc.)
  • Configure, analyze, report and address security alerts within the IT technology stack across global locations
  • In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position


  • Ability to leverage technology to meet business requirements
  • Proven competence in infrastructure and telecommunications deployment
  • Two years administering Microsoft security solutions to include Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
  • Three years of troubleshooting, configuring and supporting server and firewall security policies
  • Three years of working with Microsoft Windows desktop OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Three years troubleshooting current PC hardware, including Lenovo laptops and HP desktops, and peripherals
  • Education: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.

  • COMPTIA Network+ Certification
  • COMPTIA Security+ Certification
  • Cisco CCNA Certification
  • Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required
